I think about my daughter whom we adopted from Columbia at the age of 10. What is it we can say to her to help her focus – break the chains of the past – and to keep her moving forward toward her better future. And what I keep coming back to is “Don’t Be Average”.
The reason I say this is because when I look at all the people who have created distinction in the world it is not because they were born special, but rather because they view themselves as their own prized asset. They identify what gifts they have been given and what makes them distinct. The actions they take express those gifts.
To be able to place our decision making and our trust into a bigger future and how that manifests in us is a very distinct entity. There is only ONE of each of us in all creation. Average strips away from us all that makes us unique.
Is it going to be easy? No. But who wants easy? We have to decide to step into our best selves. Its about how we show up day in and day out.
Take stock of yourself and be fearless in stepping into your bigger future. Etch your mark on humanity.
